Spencer, the retail HUB of Northwest Iowa.

In 2022, the Chamber launched the Spencer Chamber Gift Card program.  In the first two months, we have sold $33,000 in gift cards - over twice what we have sold annually.

The new Spencer Chamber Gift Card can be spent just like a credit card across the city with the balance automatically updated. It can be spent in all sectors — on treats, as well as groceries, gas and household essentials. Spencer is the largest community in a 60 mile radius. We have a population of 11,000+ and a retail pull of 70,000! 

One of the businesses set to accept the new Spencer Chamber Gift Card is award winning restaurant, The Prime Rib.

“The Prime Rib is a steakhouse which was established 38 years ago,” said co-owner Carol Gilbertson. “We took over the business in 2018. It’s a community place where everyone goes to enjoy the certified Angus beef, legendary salad bar, specialty cocktails and Wednesday Wing night. There’s a very strong and supportive community here in Spencer, and we all know and use the shop local lingo. Of course, there have been days that have been scary over the past few years, but we’re fortunate to have been able to keep all our staff, which is thanks to our supportive clientele.”
