Agriculture

To promote the agricultural Industry in Spencer and Clay County. This group annually plans and promotes the popular “ Ag Outlook ” each February. The Chamber Ag Committee also hosts a Clay County Ag Breakfast each March as a way of saying thanks to the businesses and individuals that support them.

Ambassadors

A group of 32 Spencer business and industry leaders proudly wearing their red plaid jackets with a responsibility of welcoming new business, recognizing existing businesses with new personnel and celebrate significant accomplishments.

Community Development

This committee and several sub committees plan and carry out the many community events in Spencer. The largest is the annual Flagfest Celebration now in its 27th year. The group is also responsible for staffing the Chamber fair booth at the Clay County Fair, plan the Chamber Annual Meeting and develop other possible community events and activities.

Membership

The membership of the Spencer Chamber of Commerce is the key to its existence in so many ways. Members play a key role in developing new ideas to enhance the Spencer brand and to help its designation as “ Success City USA. This committee made up of our member- ship as well as members of the Chamber board continuously discuss new ways to benefit the membership and help them promote their business.

Tourism

Promoting ones community outside of its city boundary is crucial to its business climate. In 2011, with financial assistance from Clay County and the City of Spencer, The Clay County Convention and Visitors Bureau was developed as the tourism arm of the Spencer Chamber to enforce the assets of our area to its visitors and encourage them to consider Spencer for their next convention or meeting destination as well as exploring the many attractions and cul- tural activities of Spencer and Clay County.

Other Committees

The Spencer Chamber also uses the resources of several smaller committees that assist with the planning of the events such as Flagfest, Bowling and Golf Outing, Leadership Spencer, Home and Holiday Show and the Annual Chamber Banquet.
